UPDATE: I decided to adjust the hair on my Kate Bush portrait. I felt it was just too colorful and overpowering. I essentially painted over most of the green and yellow with black paint. I also toned down the exiting colors and gave them softer edges. I’m much happier with the new look.

This was my first 16″x20″ painting, and it was a little bit of an experiment for me. I painted Kate’s face as usual and added colorful flourishes over her hair using a palette knife. My original mock-up had way less color, so I might have overdone the effect a bit. Overall, I’m happy with it.
